Terms of Service

Last updated: 10/09/2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Buddzy, the personal finance web application available at buddzy.help (the "Service"), operated by Buddzy ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Buddzy helps you record income and expenses, organise them into accounts, categories and tags, plan budgets, set reminders and view reports. Some features are available only on paid plans, as described on the Pricing page.

Buddzy is a record-keeping tool. It does not connect to your bank, does not hold or move money, and does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Decisions you make based on data in the Service are your own.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at support@buddzy.help if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Plans, payments and renewal

The Service offers a Free plan and paid subscription plans (Basic and Premium), billed monthly or yearly. Current prices and plan limits are listed on the Pricing page.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from Profile → Plan in the app. After cancellation your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account moves to the Free plan. Your data is kept.
  • Upgrading takes effect immediately; you are charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current period. Downgrades and billing period changes take effect at the next renewal.
  • Prices may include or be subject to sales tax or VAT, calculated by Paddle based on your location.
  • If we change the price of a plan, we will notify you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next renewal.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which offers a full refund within 14 days of any payment. Refunds are processed by Paddle to the original payment method.

5. Family budgets

The Premium plan lets its owner create a family and invite other users to share a budget. Members use the owner's plan while they are in the family. The owner is responsible for who they invite, and each member remains bound by these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store content you have no right to store;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated mass requests, scraping or probing for vulnerabilities without our permission;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.

7. Your data

You keep all rights to the financial records and other content you enter. You grant us only the rights needed to store, process and display that content to provide the Service to you. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

You can download a full backup of your data at any time, and delete your account from the profile settings.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a feature that is a material part of a paid plan, you may cancel and request a prorated refund for the unused period.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms, after notice where reasonable. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will notify you by email or in the app about material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
